Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 25, 2026  ·  Last Updated: June 17, 2026

1. Overview

Grade My Take (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Zaela LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive standard profile information including your name, email address, and profile picture. Anonymous play does not require an account.

Game submissions and results

The App offers several game modes, which may change over time. Depending on the mode, when you play we store your score or result, the date and the game mode, the content you submit and/or an AI-processed version of it, any AI-generated reaction, summary, or commentary shown to you, and any badge, rating, or category assigned. In some modes the text you submit is stored as you entered it; in others we store only an AI-processed summary rather than your exact wording. We may also store related gameplay data such as your selections, your progress within a round, and aggregate community tallies.

Public visibility of results

If you set a public display name, your result and the displayed version of your response may appear publicly — on that day’s leaderboard, in share previews you generate, and, when a response ranks near the top of a daily game mode, in a public archive of past daily results. Public pages of this kind may be indexed by search engines. Anonymous play and players without a display name are not shown publicly in this way.

Optional display name

A name you choose (separate from your Google account) for use on public, social, and competitive features. Display names are filtered for inappropriate content.

Subscriber player card and badge

While you hold an active paid subscription, your player card is publicly viewable at a profile page and may be indexed by search engines. It shows your chosen display name, an optional short tagline and visual badge style you select, summary statistics (such as your average scores, community-adjusted averages, and percentile standing), your current streak, and the answers that finished in a daily top tier. Any tagline you set is filtered for inappropriate content and is public. If you do not have an active subscription, your player card is private and visible only to you.

Community votes

Signed-in players meeting our voting eligibility rules may vote on leaderboard entries. We store your vote and a timestamp. Only aggregate vote totals are displayed publicly, contributing to a community-adjusted score shown next to the AI score.

Friend connections

Signed-in players may add other signed-in players as mutual friends in two ways: (a) by searching for another player’s display name in-app and sending a friend request, which the recipient may accept or decline; or (b) by sharing a personal invite link, which any signed-in recipient may open to add the two of you as friends. Both paths are subject to limits we may set or change at our discretion. We store the pair of account identifiers and the time the connection was made, and we store pending friend requests until they are accepted, declined, or canceled. Friend connections power friends-only views, friend lists, and related social features. Either party may remove the connection at any time, which deletes it for both sides.

Payment identifiers

If you subscribe, we store a payment-processor customer identifier and your subscription status and expiration date. We never see or store your payment card details.

Email preferences

If you opt in to reminder emails, we store your email address and opt-in status. We use your email to send the reminders you requested and operational messages related to your account.

Cookies and local storage

Short-lived first-party cookies and browser local storage entries are used to keep you logged in, enforce play limits, remember a pending friend invite across sign-in, remember your local streak when you play anonymously, and remember interface preferences. We also display third-party advertising, which uses additional cookies and identifiers as described under “Advertising” below.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements in parts of the App. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads personalized based on your prior visits to this and other sites. For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we display a Google-certified consent message and serve ads according to your choices. You can control personalized advertising in your Google Ad Settings, learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and find additional opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. An active paid subscription removes ads.

Analytics and session data

We use a third-party analytics tool to understand how visitors interact with the App. It collects information such as pageviews, clicks, custom interaction events, browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser. If you sign in, that identifier may be linked to your account for analytics and operational purposes. This tool may also record playback of user sessions for product and operational purposes; where this is used, it is configured to mask the text you enter into input fields and text areas, including your answers. (How we collect and display the content you submit through normal gameplay is described above.)

Network identifiers

Your IP address is processed by our security, abuse-prevention, and analytics systems. We may retain IP addresses temporarily as needed to investigate abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate, secure, improve, develop, and commercialize the App and related products and services, including (but not limited to) authentication, abuse and fraud prevention, AI processing, public and social features (when you opt in), community-adjusted scoring, friend connections, subscription processing, opt-in email reminders, and analytics. We may create and use aggregated or de-identified information for any lawful purpose. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Other than the advertising cookies and identifiers described in the “Advertising” section above, we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

Content you submit in game modes is sent in real time to one or more third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic, PBC) for processing, which may generate a score, an explanation, a summary, a reaction, or a similar output. AI output is for entertainment only and may occasionally be inaccurate. By submitting content, you consent to this processing. Please do not include personal, sensitive, or confidential information in anything you submit. Anthropic’s privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

We may use submitted content to operate, improve, develop, and commercialize the App and related products and services.

We also apply automated safety screening to submissions to detect content that expresses self-harm or suicidal intent. When such content is detected, the normal flow is replaced with information about mental health crisis resources, and the submission is not scored, stored, or displayed. The automated safety screening is not a substitute for professional help, and the App is not a crisis intervention service. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (US), Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), Samaritans (UK & Ireland, 116 123), or another appropriate emergency resource.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on third-party service providers to operate the App. Each processes information only as needed to provide its service and under its own privacy policy. The two most relevant to the information you submit are:

  • Google — sign-in and authentication
  • Anthropic — AI processing of the content you submit

We also use service providers for application and database hosting, security and bot prevention, caching and rate limiting, product analytics, advertising (Google AdSense), payment processing, and opt-in email delivery.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the App, which removes your account and associated data. You may also request deletion or a copy of your data by emailing us. Following deletion, residual copies may persist for a limited time in backups and as required to comply with law, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms, and we may retain aggregated or de-identified information.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Users and Data Transfers

The App is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.

10. Your Rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App. We do not sell your personal information for money; however, because we use third-party advertising, some use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can limit this using the controls described in the “Advertising” section above, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EEA/UK), you may have additional rights under applicable law, including rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
