Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 25, 2026  ·  Last Updated: April 29, 2026

1. Overview

Grade My Take (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Zaela LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture URL, and email verification status. Anonymous play does not require an account.

Gameplay submissions

For each daily round you complete, we store your score, the date and type of game played, an AI-sanitized version of your response (which is the verbatim answer when it’s clean, or a rewrite when it isn’t), the AI-generated reaction shown on your result screen, and three short AI tier ratings. If you choose to set a public display name, the AI-sanitized response and score may be displayed publicly on the daily leaderboard and included in share previews; the AI-generated reaction and tier ratings remain visible only to you.

Optional display name

A name you choose (separate from your Google account) for use on the public leaderboard. Display names are filtered for inappropriate content.

Community votes

Signed-in players who have played the current day’s round may cast a single upvote or downvote on each other entry on the public leaderboard. We store your account identifier, the identifier of the answer you voted on, your vote direction, and a timestamp. Only aggregate vote totals are displayed publicly, contributing to a community-adjusted score shown next to the AI score on the daily leaderboard. Individual vote records are not displayed publicly and are not shown to the answer’s author.

Friend connections

Signed-in players may add other signed-in players as mutual friends. Each player has a personal invite link they can share; opening it associates the two accounts as friends, subject to a per-player cap. We store the pair of account identifiers and the time the connection was made. Friend connections are used only to display a friends-only view of the daily leaderboard to the two connected players and the friend list on each player’s own settings; they are not displayed to anyone else. Either party may remove the connection at any time, which deletes it for both sides.

Payment identifiers

If you subscribe, we store a Stripe customer identifier and your subscription expiration date. We never see or store your payment card details.

Email preferences

If you opt in to reminder emails, we store your email address and opt-in status. We use this only to send the reminders you requested.

Age verification

If you choose to enable the optional 18+ content tier, we ask you to provide your date of birth one time to confirm you are at least 18 years old. We store your date of birth and the timestamp of your confirmation as a record of the age representation you made at the time of purchase. Your date of birth is never displayed publicly, never shared with third parties, and is not used for any purpose other than enforcing the 18+ gate.

Cookies and local storage

Short-lived first-party cookies and browser local storage entries are used to keep you logged in, prevent multiple plays per day, remember a pending friend invite across sign-in, remember your local streak when you play anonymously, and remember UI preferences such as your selected leaderboard view. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Analytics and session data

We use PostHog to understand how visitors interact with the App. PostHog collects pageviews, clicks, custom interaction events, browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser. If you sign in, that identifier is linked to your account so we can understand activity across your visits. PostHog Session Replay records video-style playback of user sessions to help us diagnose usability issues; within these replays, text you type into form fields is masked by default and is not visible in the playback. (How we collect and display your submitted answers through normal gameplay is described in “Gameplay submissions” above.)

Network identifiers

Your IP address is processed by our rate limiting, abuse prevention, and interaction deduplication systems, and by our analytics provider. We do not write IP addresses to our database.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the App, authenticate you, prevent abuse, generate AI scores and reactions, display public leaderboards when you opt in, compute community-adjusted scores from player votes, manage friend connections you create, process subscriptions, send opt-in email reminders, and improve the product. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

Your responses are sent in real time to Anthropic, PBC for processing by their Claude language models, which generate your score, an explanation, and a stored summary. AI output is for entertainment only and may occasionally be inaccurate. By submitting a response, you consent to this processing. Please do not include personal, sensitive, or confidential information in your responses. We do not use your responses to train AI models. Anthropic’s privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

We also apply automated safety screening to submissions to detect content that expresses self-harm or suicidal intent. When such content is detected, the normal scoring flow is replaced with information about mental health crisis resources, and the submission is not scored, stored, or displayed. The automated safety screening is not a substitute for professional help, and the App is not a crisis intervention service. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (US), Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), Samaritans (UK & Ireland, 116 123), or another appropriate emergency resource.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following service providers to operate the App. Each has its own privacy policy:

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Optional adult content available through subscription is restricted to users 18 or older and is gated behind a date-of-birth confirmation step before checkout. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the App, which removes your account and associated data. You may also request deletion or a copy of your data by emailing us.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards including encrypted database connections, secure session tokens, and server-side handling of API keys. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
