1. Overview
Grade My Take (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Zaela LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information from Google Sign-In:
When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, profile image URL, and email verification status from Google. We do not receive your Google password or payment information.
Gameplay Data:
When you play the daily game, we record only that you played on a given date. We do not store your answer, your score, or the AI’s explanation. That information is displayed to you on screen but is never saved to our database.
Session Data:
We store session tokens and OAuth tokens managed by NextAuth.js. These are required to keep you logged in and are not used for any other purpose.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect passwords, payment information, location data, device information, behavioral tracking data, advertising identifiers, or your answers to daily prompts. Note: IP addresses are transiently processed in server memory solely for rate limiting purposes and are never written to our database.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to operate the App — specifically to authenticate your identity via Google, enforce the one-play-per-day rule, and maintain your login session. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. Artificial Intelligence Processing
Your answer to the daily prompt is transmitted to Anthropic, PBC for AI processing via their Claude API to generate your score and explanation. This transmission happens in real time and your answer is not stored by us after processing. By submitting an answer, you consent to this processing. Please do not include personal, sensitive, or confidential information in your answers. Anthropic’s privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App. Each has their own privacy policy and data practices:
- Google OAuth — user authentication
- Anthropic Claude API — AI scoring of answers
- Neon — database hosting
- Vercel — app hosting and deployment
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Session and OAuth tokens expire automatically and are purged by NextAuth.js.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted database connections via SSL, secure authentication tokens managed by NextAuth.js, and API keys stored as server-side environment variables never exposed to the browser. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Grade My Take is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and all associated data, and withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@zaelasolutions.com.
11. California Residents (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion of personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact info@zaelasolutions.com.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
